Every plan signs keys the same way.
Plans differ in how many active licences and products you keep, and how long Sealcord holds your history. Your customers pay you through your own payment provider; Sealcord charges only for licensing. Prices are in US dollars per workspace, before tax.

Limits are soft: keys you have issued keep working on every plan, whatever your count. Payment integrations connect your own Polar or Stripe account.
Questions
- What counts as an active licence?
- A licence that is active or in trial today. Expired and revoked licences stay in your register and don’t count.
- Can I try Sealcord before paying?
- The Free plan has no time limit: 30 active licences and one product, for as long as you like. Paid plans start when you choose one.
- What happens if I go over my limit?
- Keys you have already issued keep activating and checking, on every plan, always. On Indie and Studio, Sealcord emails you at 80% and 100% of your limit, and you then have 14 days to move up or tidy up before new keys pause. On Free, Sealcord emails you at 80% of your limit; at 30 active licences new keys pause until you upgrade, and Sealcord tells you by email and in the Console. Paid orders from a payment integration that arrive while new keys are paused are kept and issued once you upgrade. On Business billed monthly, each started 1,000 active licences above 25,000 costs $4 a month, counted at the month’s peak. Business billed yearly has a fixed limit of 25,000 active licences and no overage: at 25,000, new keys pause until you upgrade or switch to monthly billing.
- Do you take a share of my sales or charge per API call?
- No. You pay the plan price and nothing else to Sealcord. Sealcord never takes your customers’ payments: your payment provider charges its own fees for that, and they go to the provider.
- Which payment providers work with Sealcord?
- Any of them. The backend that takes the payment issues the licence with one call to Sealcord’s API, so you keep your provider and can change it without touching a key you have sold. A payment integration goes further: you connect your own Polar or Stripe account, and its webhooks issue and end licences. Free connects 1 integration; paid plans connect as many as you need.
- Can I bring my own signing keys?
- Yes. Each product’s Ed25519 key can be one you generate yourself. Sealcord pins its public key and refuses to start issuing if the private key doesn’t match.
- Do my apps need Sealcord to be online?
- No, not to check a key. Verification needs only the public key inside your app. Sealcord is needed for activations, seat limits and revocation, and apps cache a signed verdict for when they are offline.
- What if I stop paying Sealcord?
- Your workspace falls back to Free. Every key you have issued keeps activating and checking, and keeps verifying offline, which never involved Sealcord. New keys pause while you are at or above Free’s limit of 30 active licences. Nothing is deleted, and you can still export every licence as CSV.
